Are You Nervous About Sharing Your Beauty in your Business?

From one Goddess to another, did you know that holding back your BEAUTY has a major impact on your videos and your business?

I did not want to admit this for a looooooooong time, but it’s true.  If you are not sharing your beauty with your tribe- you are holding back a part of you, part of your essence, your energy- your LIFE FORCE!

However, there is timing involved here.  So if you haven’t been ready to share your beauty, there’s probably been a darn good reason!  And I’ve had to work through a lot myself to be able to share it here and there and now a little more consistently.

So not to push you or prod you.  Notice where you are sharing it and where you aren’t.  Chances are you are doing it here and there- YAY!  So that’s where you start and then you take your next incremental step- one step at a time.  Right?

Examples of incremental steps:

  • Where a little makeup when you do your errands: something as simple as a little pencil under the eye and lip gloss, for starters
  • Add some earrings
  • Wear a dress- even a casual dress
  • Wear nice sandals, or low heeled boots
  • Wear a bright color

Just take one step at a time.  Breathe.  Notice how you feel.

Let me ask you. Are you NOT making your videos because you:

  • are super critical of your looks, your face, your body
  • worry about what others will think
  • don’t know what to wear
  • go into freeze mode when you just think of being in front of the camera

Or are you making your videos but you’re:

  • not appreciating your beauty
  • afraid of wearing makeup and attracting more attention
  • still managing to hide your beauty
  • holding back your femininity

How to have a Viral Gratitude Party!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I’m finally going to give Testimonials a rest- I promise!

And yet…. all this Thanksgiving Gratitude stuff is kind of similar to Testimonials- wouldn’t you say? He he he!!


I expressed my gratitude to my family on Facebook yesterday and got a lot of Gratitude action going there with my family and friends jumping in the mix and I realized- these expressions of gratitude are very much like mini-Testimonials!

So today, just now, I posted a “Gratitude to my Business” post on Facebook with fun pixes to thank Youtube and the iPhone!!!

How to have a VIRAL GRATITUDE PARTY

***HOT FUN TIP #1!!!

Thank and tag a TON of colleagues and mentors on Facebook (so much fun!!!) This started a whole Gratitude Party within seconds!!!  They’re all popping in and commenting tons of love back to me!!!   Is this an awesome way to start my day?!!!  YES!!!

And the comments are continuing to flow in as I write!!!  It’s creating a VIRAL Gratitude FEST!!!

Sharing your gratitude raises your frequency, just like giving Testimonials.  And raising your frequency is good for business!!  And your health and your soul!

It’s really important to thank each person who takes the time to comment.  I tagged people I haven’t been in touch with in a while and if they actually comment, I consider that a HUGE gift as we just opened up the flow of energy between us again and are supporting each other.

Thanking each person who comments is another opportunity to laser in on them and give them a mini-testimonial right on the spot, since you can’t do it for everyone you tag in the initial post!!! 

Hope this makes sense!!  This further expands the positive field all around you that you created with this Gratitude Party and lets it continue to grow!!!

I know a lot of people feel overwhelmed when tons of people comment, but it’s worth thanking everyone- several in one comment is fine, too, like this:

And I see so many people who never comment back when people comment under their posts and I think, what a missed opportunity to thank them.  They are contributing to your expanded Visibility!  Don’t make this mistake!    It certainly doesn’t expand the positive field of Gratitude, right?

You can’t resist free prizes, can you? Nope, no one can. That’s why we love free skin care samples, that free body brush with shower gel purchase, a bonus pack of granola, whatever it is as long as it has value and it’s FREE!

Who can resist free stuff? We like to feel pampered and spoiled even when we know we’re being marketed to. 

Because everyone is a sucker for a free gift.

So are your Soulmate Clients who find your website for the first time…within seconds of arriving to your site (blog, home page, all pages they creep in) they’ll be looking at your free gift.  If you don’t have one, you’re missing out!

Without a free gift, you don’t capture their email address. And God forbid they get on your site, forget to opt-in, and never come back! As sad as that is, in this busy digital world people give you a few seconds to grab their attention and often won’t find you again unless you have a way to reach out to them.

You’ll wanna make it SO FRIGGING RIDICULOUSLY OBVIOUS:

  1. Where your free gift is (is it brightly colored, big, bold, and the first thing you see on the site?
  2. How hot your free gift is! Does it really temp them to wanna get it?
  3. What they’re getting – what’s inside the gift?
  4. Why they need to get it – what are the results of your gift?

Start helping them fix their problem.

Make sure your free opt-in gift helps them get a few results right away! Don’t just give them your free newsletter or “updates” as no one cares about those. Nope! It has to be something way hot that speaks to their biggest desires, and to the pain that they need to solve urgently, like yesterday!

Brand that sexy gift with a fun title and description 

Get creative on packaging it all up, as long as you’re clear in the results they’ll get from the gift. Have a cool title for your gift. Something memorable and catchy. Instead of “FREE GIFT: Raw Cacao Recipes for Weight-Loss,” tempt them with something yummier like:  “Grab your rawsome mouthwatering FREE EBOOK! The Cacao Gourmet Guide: 3 Ridiculously Rich Recipes to Lose the Pudge with Raw Fudge”

Don’t just call it “your free gift” – sell them on it. Explain exactly what your free gift does for them, and package it up with a little cute description, title, and image/art that sells like hotcakes! No more snoring boring free gifts, OK!?

It could be an MP3 meditation, an ebook, a special report, checklist, video training, or other cool workbook/handout. Make it irresistible, something worth $49 or more in value (you can even say that, X dollar value!).

Really focus on the results – what is in it for them?

People are so busy these days, they need to know why this is urgent for them and what the benefits are. So focus on the RESULTS they’ll be getting, not on the what or the how, but on the why!!! Why is your free gift so import for them to get right now?!

Follow up on the gift to build a relationship

Now you have your magical free gift…Great job! They will be signing up for your free gift in droves now, but how to turn them into a paying client?

Next step: keep in touch and romance your Soulmate Clients! This is the dating phase – it builds trust. You gotta drip out free content every few days. So start dropping them little love notes with Aweber, Mailchimp, Infusionsoft, 1shoppingcart, etc so you can build trust together before you get them to buy anything! Deliver free hot content focusing on getting them the results they want.

How to Get Juicy a Video Testimonial!

thumbnail juicy testimonialsI know I’ve been ranting and raving about giving testimonials…. now it’s time to talk  about “Getting Testimonials” and getting Juicy ones!!  Of course!!

Testimonials are sooooo important for your website, for your sales pages, and to use as client success stories in your tele-seminars,  speaking gigs, your Discovery Sessions, during interviews…. you name it!

Testimonials build your credibility for potential clients.  They need to feel reassured about your skills before they invest in you.

Reading testimonials is part of doing their research, their due diligence.  It’s like an Amazon review- that’s what actually sells products on Amazon, are those reviews!  And reviews are like mini-testimonials, right?  And Amazon knows a few things about selling, wouldn’t you say?

I know for myself, I love reading testimonials and I particularly love watching Testimonial videos and getting more of a real sense of a Coach in addition to how they present themselves.  Testimonial videos show others aspects and complete more of the picture of a Coach.

But it means you have to ask for the Testimonial!  Have you noticed that it’s easier  to give a testimonial than to ask for one!  Surprise, surprise!

As I have been working on my newest program  (I reveal a little more in the video! More on that soon!!)  I realized I needed some new blood in my testimonials.

And then I noticed that little tug of, “Oh I don’t want to make them do the extra work.”  Oy!   So I noticed the challenge inside of myself of potentially burdening my past clients and then realized- “Sheesh!  It’s good for them to give me one!  That’s what I’ve been preaching, isn’t it?”

Of course! It is excellent visibility for your clients to give you a testimonial and guess what? They usually want to give it to you as it makes them feel good to give to you because they so loved working with you.  Am I right?  Hell yes!  Let them know you want them to mention their web address and add it as a title on the screen if they are giving you a video testimonial!

So when I started reaching out for testimonials after the initial tug of discomfort, I noticed how GOOD it actually felt to ASK!  It felt exciting to reconnect with my clients and to RECEIVE from them!  So I want you to notice how that feels when you ask for a testimonial, once you get over the initial discomfort and savor that feeling!

Then notice the responses you get.  I got lots of, “Of courses!” and “I’d love tos”  And that felt wonderful!   It’s a nice way of keeping the energy flowing back and forth between you and your clients even though they are not current clients anymore.  These are deeply nourishing relationships that continue to grow and live, even though in less direct ways.

So, go on and get some Juicy Testimonials!  And to get good testimonials, it’s helpful to guide your clients, especially  if they need help!

Here are a few excellent questions to get them started:

  • What was it like before and after you worked with me- what kind of results did you get?
  • Ask them to talk about the Tangible results eg. Made x amount of money, got x amount of clients, lost x amount of pounds, met my spouse, started sleeping….  Tangible results are extremely compelling and excellent for your credibility.  People want tangible results more than anything.  Right?  Yep, that’s what they pay you for.
  • However, if there are not as many of these concrete, quantifiable, tangible results, ask them to talk about the Intangible results eg. “I stopped worrying as much about money, which allowed me to trust that all would be well and enjoy my life more!”  That’s a HUGE result, in my book!

These intangible results are sometimes hard to even pinpoint, so if they need help, it’s helpful to get on the phone and  review with them of what they got from working with you. 

Sometimes, people actually need time to integrate all the Intangible gifts they got from working with you.  For example, believing in someone is a massive gift and impacts a client tremendously.  It will create tangible results- indirectly- down the road.  Right?

Building someone’s confidence is HUGE!  And changes a person’s life!  So, it’s nice to help them see and articulate what results you see that they received.

Give them space to dig a little deeper into why they so enjoyed working with you.   You may be pleasantly surprised and learn about ways you impacted them that you weren’t aware of!  That’s always fun to hear!

I have a client who I helped  launch a cutting edge group program and in our work together she discovered her methodology that she hadn’t been aware of yet. And this became the bare bones of her book that she’s about to complete!

Here are some guidelines to give to your clients when creating their Video Testimonial for you:

  • Ask your clients to speak from their heart and connect to how you made them feel, when they worked with you.  This comes out more authentically, less of a performance. Let it be like a story if that helps them.
  • Ask them to relax (esp. if this is a video!) and just feel what they are feeling when they remember working with you.  Their words will have more of a transmission, and the audience will feel your impact on their life, way more!
  •  Let them know whatever they do will be wonderful! No pressure!  Tell them try to enjoy it! Not to rush.
  • Make sure they don’t feel they have to promote you and feel responsible for making people hire you.

Promotion is not the purpose of a testimonial.  It’s about re-experiencing the feeling of having worked with you, so people can get a taste of feeling You!  Communication is 70% non verbal.  Their words are not as important as how they feel when they talk about you!

One last technical bonus note re: making Video Testimonials!  You can offer to record them while you are on skype together and then you can add any titles and make it easier for them that way.  These kinds of testimonials don’t look as good through skype, but that is not so important.  If you’re on a mac, I recommend “Call Recorder” by ecamm network.  It’s $29.99!! Such a great deal!

Now go out there and gather some testimonials!  It is sooooo important for you to soak in the juices of your impact on your client’s lives.  These testimonials are here to help your future clients get to know, like and trust you so that they can receive your gifts that they are waiting to receive!!

Notice how I did this video in a high vibrational location– The Getty Museum?  It raises my frequency to be in locations like this as does giving Testimonials!  So go raise your frequency giving or commenting on Testimonials and see how good you feel!

To Vamping Up Your Visibility and Sharin’ the Love in a way that is FUN for You!!

Testimonials = Visibility = $$$

Howdy!  I am excited to share with you some deep dish about Testimonials.   Are you a fan of ‘sharin’ the love?’  Well if you’re not used to giving testimonials, I suggest you check this out for a refreshing twist!

As the video explains, Testimonials are a great way to Vamp Up Your Visibility!  But that can be a little edgy, right?  That’s why, in the video, I have 3 different ways to give Testimonials– and one is an easier, less ‘visible’ way.  It’s a quick and fun way to expand your Visibility in small increments.

I like to use all three methods.
I give testimonials as often as I can.

Here are some Testimonial Tips (not in the Video):


First I connect to how it feels to work with a coach.  

Then I comment on how it feels to work with that coach- how they made me feel etc..

Then I  share the results I received. 

I only give Testimonials because I want to- not because I have to!

 I try not to ‘promote’ or ‘sell’ the coach, like “You should definitely work with so and so because….” and get all  pushy and ‘salesy.’  

That’s an automatic pattern that I used to do, because I thought that’s how you’re supposed to give a testimonial!  I felt responsible for getting other people to work with this coach! Can you relate?  Oy!

But it’s not an authentic way to give a testimonial.   It feels forced and pushed.  Yucch! Right?

So now, I try to stay in a state of gratitude and connected to the warm fuzzy feeling inside of me when I think about working with that coach.

That way I don’t  feel pressured into performing!


I only have to be me and share my personal experience!

Hard enough, right?

Can You Make Videos When You’re Not Clear on Your Business?

I’ve have died and gone to heaven and have reincarnated as a High Healed, High Priestess Professor at Aphrodite University, teaching Priestess Video Marketing classes!!   What????

I’d say a dream come true that I’d never even articulated!

Well, I found myself satisfyingly challenged by some of the seeming obstacles these Priestess-preneur students face regarding how to make videos when you don’t:

  1. fully know what your business truly is
  2. have full clarity of your message- what makes you unique and special and STAND OUT–
  3. know what your niche is and who you serve

Can you relate?

I know how difficult that phase was for me- it lasted many years, in fact- ugghhh!

(But this is not a judgment!- as it ‘takes what it takes’ to gain greater self-awareness and brand clarity! Right? However it was painful- as is most transformation that makes you stronger!)

This topic came up as well for many of my Vamp Up Your Visibility 30 Day Challengers who were shifting into new businesses or starting new businesses.

Not knowing exactly what your business is or what makes you unique can be very tough and a seemingly valid excuse not to make videos.

No way José!

That’s what inspired this video – I concocted an antidote for you!  In a swimming pool, no less!!

  • I am firm believer that there is no reason to wait to have everything all figured out in your business before you start making videos!
  • The truth is that choosing your niche is a process, so why not pick one and start discovering what’s inside of you that is begging to be shared with the world.  Video helps you do that!
  • Video is an alchemical container for your divine downloads to come through you and be seen by your tribe, sprinkled all over the world.
  • You don’t have to actually share these videos- they can be R&D in the beginning, sharing only with a few colleagues in a safe group.
  • If during the process you get greater clarity about who you are here to serve and what you are here to teach, then let yourself morph at that time.  Video will help you get clearer much more quickly than talking about it or trying to figure it out.  It puts you in motion and gets all your juices flowing!
  • Then when you are ready to really choose your niche, you will be all ready to dive into making videos and getting your message out in a BIG way with no video learning curve!
  • The video has a step by step process to get you in action, incrementally!  So dive in!

Video Ritual: To juice up my Tithing & Manifest Abundance!

Wow!

Hey you, Priestess-preneur, Witchy woman, Embodiment of the Divine Feminine!

Have you ever used video to create a ritual?

Yup! Oh yes, I did!  You, too? Cool!  Please do share in the comments below- I’m all ears!!  Not yet?  No prob!  I’m pretty durned stoked to share this ‘Priestess’ way of making video with you, so that you can try it on for size!

In this Video Ritual, my intention is to magicalize and enhance my very first act of tithing!

I’m tickled to be caught in the act of my virgin tithe on video and ritualizing this rite of passage! Is this making any sense?  I know the ritual was rather un-ceremonial.

But that’s the beauty of ritual or prayer, it can be very simple.  It’s all about the intention. 

My intention was to honor this inaugural tithe.  So I chose to get dressed ‘up’ (otherwise I would have been wearing ratty dance clothing,) put the legal minimum of eyeliner and lipstick on, and walked to the mailbox– chatting all the way and sharing my schoolgirl excitement with you about this brave new world of tithing!

Capturing all of this Ritual on video- and sharing with you the moment of dropping the tithing envelope into the mailbox has been unexpectedly thrilling!   I’m still buzzing as I write this!

I have swollen glands and don’t feel so hot but I was so jazzed by this ritual that instead of getting horizontal after I journeyed back home, I started editing the video.  It actually felt like I was prolonging the ritual vibe by editing the video!  Post-ritual magic!  And now, blogging about it is like adding Eveready batteries!

Now that’s making this usually arduous journey so much lighter!  Exactly what I’ve been hinting about to the Goddess!  Thank you, G!

It is!)  And I am extremely curious to hear of your Video Rituals- will you post some ideas or some experiences below?  I think we’d all love it!! I simply can’t wait!!

I’m destined to do more Video Rituals.  To channel the Goddess more into my video-making.  I AM the Divine Feminine.  With intention, I can easily transmit her energy through my videos!  Don’t you feel the same?  I want to know- s’il vous plait!

And do comment if it feels righteous to you to do Video Rituals, and include Goddess energy or Divine Feminine energy or any kind of spiritual energy in your videos.  If you care, or dare to share.

I’m flying on instinct here and don’t even want to rationalize why I want to infuse DF into my work and videos.  Catch my drift?

This is a whole new galaxy of exploration for me.  It’s much more fun to have you along the journey with me.  I’m really hoping you’ll be vocal about your experiences and disco-ovaries. (couldn’t resist!)

How did you meet your Coach? Seeing her Video?

I figured!

As I was gallivanting innocently through Facebook, one day, I clicked on a video and ‘met’ my first business coach, Christina Morassi.

Fast forward 2 years and now she’s giving me the opportunity to teach her clients about making ‘Renegade’ videos to boost their businesses!  What a thrill! Here’s a little teaser for you:

Now, I don’t really like to admit this, but I didn’t ‘like’ Christina at first.  I was actually kind of jealous of her.  Well, actually, not kind of...  To be totally accurate, I was really jealous.  Unfortunately, I was riveted to her videos.

Funny how that is.

I wanted what she had.  I wanted to fully express myself on video the way she unabashedly seemed to be doing.  She was having way too much fun- dagnabbit!  And I most definitely was NOT!  I was incredibly STUCK.

AND she was able to teach- I begrudgingly had to admit- compelling content in a creative way, while having FUN!  Sh*t! I thought to myself, “if she can do it, why the heck can’t I?”

After stalking her videos rather intently for a few months, I couldn’t resist her anymore.
I realized I had to work with her and I signed up without going to her live event which was practically free and local!

Kind of ridiculous, eh?  Though I had resisted going to see her in her glory on stage, I saw 1 video that put me over the edge!  She had jetted to Hawaii at the last minute to celebrate and rejuvenate after her very successful live event (darn her!)  and she was teaching branding, using her bikini as an example!  Utterly brilliant!- much to my chagrin….

But that did it for me!  I was utterly SOLD on her, without her having to sell me, because I so totally WANTED the freedom of self-expression and success that she had, and I KNEW she was the right coach for me.

Ironically, I had to beg her to take me into her VIP program because she wasn’t so sure I was such a good fit!!!

How absurdly ironic!

Wouldn’t you like to not have to sell yourself and let your videos do the work for you?

After watching my videos, Christina  approached me to teach the Video module for her Confident Business Diva Program coming up in February!!

Can you tell?  I am still doing a happy jig inside!  I was thrilled and totally HONORED!  And this past Wednesday, I taught the Divas this special Renegade Video-Making workshop while they were all in town for their Retreat at the Viceroy Hotel!

Isn’t it ever so elegant?  It’s also pretty darn groovy and SUPER high frequency.  I have to say, I felt like a million bucks!

The goal of the workshop was to teach the Divas to milk the marketing advantages to the max while they were at the retreat, using ‘Renegade’ video!  To take full advantage of the exciting visual opportunities and make authentic, dynamic ‘Renegade’ videos- quick, lo-tech, grab-the-moment-while-you-can, guerilla-style videos!

So how is the combo of Renegade video + Retreat a marketing gold mine, you ask?

Well, these videos, while non-time-consuming and easy to do, are “Know-Like-Trust Builders,” intended to share the Divas’ out-of-the-box  business building retreat experience and share their exciting journey with their audience:

  • like staying at a groovy, artsy 5 star hotel– super visually interesting;
  • expanding their visibility muscles by dancing in colorful, glitzy attire in a flash mob in a touristy part of town;
  • and getting photographed in a celebrity photo-shoot!

Wouldn’t you be riveted to follow along their journeys in these non-traditional, ‘Renegade’ business videos?

That’s what I’m talkin’ about!  I’ve watched many of these videos on Facebook and they’re totally engaging and captivating!  In fact, many of the Divas had been struggling making videos, prior to the workshop, and each one shot a minimum of 3 videos during their retreat!  Most of them shot 4 or more!

A rip-roaring success, I’d say!  Wouldn’t you say?
